Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFV) Market Introduction and Overview

According to SPER market research, 'Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFV) Market Size- By Fuel Type, By Vehicle Type - Regional Outlook, Competitive Strategies and Segment Forecast to 2034' state that the Global Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFV) Market is predicted to reach 3931.1 billion by 2034 with a CAGR of 20.12%.

The rising cost of fossil fuels is one of the primary factors driving the expanding demand for alternative fuel cars. As dependency on imported fossil fuels increases, particularly in developing countries, there is a growing need for cars that run on alternative fuels. This shift is reflected in the growing number of cars powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), hydrogen, and electricity. One example of this tendency is the dramatic rise in crude oil prices from 2020 to 2021. Furthermore, the rapid growth of the electric car market is a major driver of the whole alternative fuel vehicle business.

One major obstacle to the growth of the electric car charging business is the low usage rate of commercial charging stations and the associated high charging fees. Even though DC fast-charging stations have the potential to generate significant returns on investment, low usage is an issue. Compared to ordinary gas stations, which have high usage rates (about 34%), commercial EV charging stations typically run at a much lower rate (5-10%).
