The aim of this study is to evaluate the state of the art regarding AI ethics and regulation and to assess the current landscape of ethical considerations and regulatory frameworks pertaining to artificial intelligence (AI) on a global scale.
It seeks to answer the following questions:
- What ethical challenges does AI present, particularly in areas such as bias, discrimination, and societal impact?
- What are the primary legal hurdles associated with AI, including aspects like privacy, intellectual property and liability?
- How can the identified challenges be effectively addressed and mitigated? What strategies, encompassing ethical guidelines and legal frameworks, can be employed?
- What stances have international, regional, and national institutions taken regarding AI ethics and regulation? How do these positions differ or converge?
