This IDC Perspective looks at AI bringing new and improved business performance expectations and opportunities. AI isn't just the shiny new technology object but rather an opportunity to leverage more technology than in years past. While organizations have long been improving businesses with new line-of-business and industry applications, such that businesses' processes are faster and more efficient, AI brings the promise in 2025 to bring significant process and tasks improvements. This document brings forward a data-driven view of AI as it begins to proliferate into the organization. It brings a cursory view of the state of AI currently and in the future, examples of AI viewed as skills in conjunction with employee business processes, and tasks versus the role or job an employee does currently.
