Worldwide Smartphone Forecast Update, 2024-2028: CY 4Q24

This IDC study presents the updated five-year forecast for smartphone shipments worldwide by operating system."The worldwide smartphone market received a boost during the first half of 2024, thanks to an influx of inexpensive 5G smartphones heading to emerging markets, and the second half of the year will benefit from new flagship models shipping worldwide," pointed out Ramon T. Llamas, research director with IDC's Mobile Phones team. "These will drive volumes upward following the two years of decline and then settle into a slow growth pattern in the years to come."
