Worldwide Business Use Smartphone Forecast Update, 2024-2028

This IDC study presents the five-year forecast for the worldwide business use of smartphone shipments by operating system and user type (consumer, individual liable, and corporate liable). It is part of IDC's continuing research with respect to mobile devices. Findings in this document are based on information gathered from primary and secondary sources during the past six months."Worldwide business use smartphone shipments are expected to see steady growth over the forecast period, with both information and frontline worker use cases driving increased corporate-liable shipments," said Bryan Bassett, research manager, IDC's Enterprise Mobility: Workspace and Deployment Strategies program. "While next-gen mobile AI-powered smartphones have garnered interest from ITDMs and are likely to drive future shipments, the impact mobile AI will have on enterprise workers has yet to be fully realized, as IT departments and end users alike explore how to best leverage next-gen on-device AI technology at work."
