Worldwide AI-Enabled PC Forecast, 2024-2028: 2Q24

This IDC study discusses forecast data for the worldwide AI-enabled PC market from 2024 to 2028. By 2028, we think NPU will approach ubiquity with only 5.2% of PCs featuring a CPU sans NPU. We are also projecting shipments of 100+ TOPS discrete GPUs to grow from 22.8 million in 2023 to 36.4 million in 2028. We're projecting AI-enabled PC shipments to grow with a CAGR of 42.1% from 2023 to 2028, with Arm accounting for 17.6% of all shipments in 2028."Now, the AI PC race has begun," states Linn Huang, research vice president, Devices and Displays, IDC. "The next few years should see rapid evolution of silicon technology and consequently of use case and user experience."
