Implantable Loop Recorders (ILR) Market Size by Segments, Share, Regulatory, Reimbursement, Procedures and Forecast to 2033 is built to visualize quantitative and qualitative market trends within Cardiovascular Devices therapeutic area.
An Implantable loop recorder (ILR) is a subcutaneous, single-lead, electrocardiographic (ECG) monitoring device used for diagnosis in patients with recurrent unexplained episodes of palpitations or syncope, along with long-term monitoring in patients at risk for or with atrial fibrillation, structural heart disease, bundle branch block, recurrent neurally mediated syncope etc. An implantable loop recorder consists of the insertable recorder that comes with a battery and two surface electrodes.
IImplantable loop recorders (ILRs) can prove to be efficient in providing a more certain correlation between a patient's symptoms and abnormalities in heart rhythm. Whereas, traditional methods of monitoring, such as Holter monitor or an external loop recorders, are not as effective in capturing the arrhythmic events, because of inadequate duration of monitoring or failure of the patient to activate the device. ILR allows for prolonged monitoring (up to 3 years) and it auto-activates when an arrhythmia occurs, allowing episodes to be captured independent of patient activation of the device.
