Endometriosis is a type of disease in which endometrial tissue grows outside the uterus. Endometriosis is defined as a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus is found outside of the uterine cavity such as on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, or other pelvic structures. The gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) medicines such as Lupron Depot (leuprolide), Synarel (nafarelin), Zoladex (goserelin) and oral contraceptive such as Provera (medroxyprogesterone), Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol) are used for the management of endometriosis.
